Bruno Rocca Maria Adelaide 2011

Deep garnet red. This is an opulent wine that opens with aromas of dense black fruits, blackberry and plum, along with delicate floral perfumes of violet, rose and a touch of spice. The mouth-filling, warm structure of the palate is long and persistent, and as elegant as we have come to expect from this wine.

The Barbaresco Maria Adelaide is made from a special selection of grapes from the vintage in memory of Bruno Rocca’s mother who lived at Rabaja from 1921 until her death in 2006.  Yields are 38 hectolitres per hectare..

The grapes were hand picked from the best sites of the Bruno Rocca vineyards. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks over 7-10 days after which the wine was aged 18 months in new French oak barrels.
