Firesteed Oregon Pinot Gris 2014

Expressively aromatic, the wine’s pear blossom and tropical fruit aromas precede flavours of zesty citrus and melon. Mouthwatering and enticing, bright acidity and broad texture entwine throughout the lingering finish.

By sourcing fruit from cooler Willamette Valley sites and from the warmer climate of the Rogue Valley, the final Oregon Pinot Gris blend combines delicate floral aromas with rich tropical fruit. The fresh acidity of the grapes from the north balances the ripe, full texture of the southern grapes.

The must was fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks using selected yeasts propagated from cellars in Burgundy. It was held for six months in tank until bottling, to maximise the fresh fruit character. By blending several vineyard sources and regions and avoiding heavy-handed winemaking techniques, a balanced wine focused on the abundant varietal fruit character of this classic grape has been achieved. Bottling took place in spring 2014.
