Peter Lehmann Black Eight Songs Shiraz 2011

The cool 2011 vintage has produced a deeply coloured Shiraz with a bouquet featuring dark plums and chocolate. The richly structured palate is stylish with soft velvet tannins which has become the hallmark of Eight Songs Shiraz.

Peter Lehmann Wines works with over 140 growers across the length and breadth of the Barossa Valley region, with access to over 750 individual vineyard sites. The fruit for Eight Songs is sourced from three of the oldest, low-yielding vineyards from the Barossa sub-regions of Stonewell and Bethany.

2011 was a difficult vintage throughout Australia. Unusually mild weather with above average cloud cover has given rise to softly textured red wines with good varietal definition.

Fermented and macerated on skins for up to two weeks with some partial barrel fermentation. Following pressing and clarification, the wine was matured in French oak hogsheads for approximately 12 months.
