Ruggeri Prosecco Brut Quartese NV

£13.25

Hands down, this is one of the top five Prosecco producers. Bright and bubbly, fresh and creamy yet balanced, this smorgasbord of white flowers and peach explains why.
Decanter Panel Tasting - Prosecco Experts Choice
August 2013

My best discovery of the whole trip, however, was Ruggeri, which is run by a branch of the Bisol family and which makes some lovely wines that may well make you think about prosecco in a different way. Start with the surprisingly intense Quartese then progress to the elegant Giustino B.

TASTING NOTE

Streaked with a persistent perlage of minute bubbles, this is an elegant wine with an appley bouquet on a floral background and a dry, fresh palate with good length and a pleasantly fruity finish.

An elegant, appley bouquet on a floral background precedes a dry, fresh palate with good length and a pleasantly fruity finish.

Enjoyable on its own or with oven-poached fish in olive oil, warm asparagus and prosciutto salad or Thai spices shrimp salad with Asian greens and pesto dressing for example.
