Vina Leyda Merlot Reserva 2014



Honest and fresh style, this is a juicy and red fruit Merlot.Sweet aromas of plums, cherries, and spices. Dark chocolate and tobacco notes add complexity in the nose. Well structured in the mouth, wide and dense, with ripe tannins, bright acidity and a pleasant finish.

The grapes were hand harvested. After a gentle crush, the grapes and juice were chilled to 10ªC and remain for 4 days under anaerobic conditions before selected yeast inoculation. Fermentation occurred at 27-28 ªC for 8 days with a “pump over” regime of 3-4 times per day. The wine was left over lees and skins for an additional 4 days. Then, it was racked into French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation and aged there for 8 months.
